This is true for celebrities that are making popping the question in the Bahama Islands a trend. And why wouldn’t they? In addition to the beauty and warm climate of this destination, nothing screams romance like the pink sand on these islands.

The Bahamas consist of over 700 islands so there is no end to the ability for celebrities to seek out the perfect place to get engaged in total privacy.

The Abacos was the choice for Alex Rodriguez to propose to Jennifer Lopez

Rodriguez obviously can take a hint. In the months leading up to his proposal, Lopez released a song titled “El Anillo,” which means “The Ring,” and she was working on a movie called Marry Me. You would think that Rodriguez would not have a problem proposing.

However, once in the Abacos, he was so nervous that as he told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, “I had the ring, but what was interesting, is the days prior to me going down on one knee and getting engaged, was I rehearsed three days in a row.”

Eventually, he got up the courage and popped the question with a gorgeous emerald cut diamond.

Justin Bieber chose Baker’s Bay to propose to Hailey Baldwin

After a long and winding road, Bieber and Baldwin’s relationship began as a friendship and turned into love and marriage. Bieber chose Baker’s Bay as the spot to ask his love to marry him. Baldwin would later recount that the moment he proposed was “very special.”

After the engagement became official Bieber posted a loving post about Baldwin for all the world to read. A heartfelt statement from him was, “My heart is COMPLETELY and FULLY YOURS and I will ALWAYS put you first! You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn’t want to spend it with anybody else.”

Aw, true love.

Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman chose the Bahamas as their wedding destination

Anyone who was a fan of Revenge watched how the on-screen romance between “Emily Thorne”, VanCamp and “Daniel Grayson,” Bowman, was full of electric chemistry. Fans secretly wished that their romance would cross over into real life.

Fans got their wish when VanCamp and Bowman said I do on Harbor Island, Bahamas. The couple got engaged in May 2017 and at the time VanCamp told People, “It’s literally only been a couple of days, but it’s amazing, I’m really happy!”

On the one-year anniversary of their engagement, VanCamp posted a sweet Instagram picture and caption that said, “A year ago today I said yes to this man. Wouldn’t want to do life with anyone else.”

Other celebrities have gotten engaged or married in the Bahamas 

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard liked getting married so much that they did it a second time on a soft sandy beach in the Bahamas.

According to US Weekly, “The ceremony took place in a small cove on a white sand beach, with a few dozen chairs set up on both sides of an aisle that trailed down to the altar which included the ocean as a backdrop.” Unfortunately, this union failed miserably.

Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem chose an intimate family ceremony at the home of friends in the Bahamas to exchange wedding vows. This very private couple have shared little information about their relationship with fans.

Once when Cruz was asked to confirm whether she was dating Bardem, Cruz said, “He’s a friend and the best actor in the world.” The couple had been long-time friends before getting married.
